Finnish Dance Sport Federation (shortened as FDSF) was founded in 1976, and it has been a member of the World DanceSport Federation (shortened as WDSF) ever since. In 1985 the FDSF joined the World Rock’n’Roll Confederation (WRRC).

At the end of the first year the Finnish Dance Sport Federation had 1893 members. Today there are 72 dance sport clubs that are members of the national federation and the federation has through its clubs approximately 12 200 registered members.
