How efficiently the virus spreads and the period of infectiousness are not yet well known. The patients’ symptoms include fever, coughing and shortness of breath. So far, seven mild laboratory-confirmed cases caused by the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) have been diagnosed in Finland.

Finnish Dance Sport Federation underlines the meaning of a proper hand and coughing hygiene in all contacts. This will protect against all virus infections, including a normal seasonal influenza. Athletes, representatives of clubs, adjudicators and other officials are recommended to avoid hand shaking during events. The Finnish Dance Sport Federation recommends each athlete to have their own water bottle and towel and not to share water bottles or towels. Competition organisers should make sure of the sufficiency of hand towels and hand disinfection bottles on site.
